GBS @ 50: 1962-2012

In August of 1962, Glenbrook South opened its doors. 

This book captures the people, events and stories of Glenbrook South High school for each of its 50 academic years.

There is a post on Dick Eastman's Genealogy Blog this morning that might appeal to WW2 Liberator Veterans.

The Collings Foundation is producing The Last Liberator for a TV series in June.  They would like to interview B-24 or B-17 crewmembers.  If you are interested in participating, please send a short biography and picture to Hunter Chaney at hchaney@collingsfoundation.org .

Bill's Grill

Did you attend high school in Glenview?  Do you remember Bill's Grill at 1834 Waukegan Rd.? Do you have a picture of it?

Bill's Grill is listed in the 1957 Glenview telephone book, owned by the Glenview Public Library..

The Library was visited by a Glenbrook High School alum who is planning a reunion for the class of 1964.  If you have memorabilia from Bill's Grill, please notify Deena, Reference Librarian / Genealogy Specialist, dbutta@glenviewpl.org .

If you did not hang out at Bill's Grill in the 1960s but maybe in another snack shop, please tell us what it was called, and share your happy memories about it!

Civil War Anniversary
